Your time commitment will vary depending on the specific study you choose. On average, the studies require 6-8 visits to the research sites over two years. Most of the visits will take place in the first year, with one or two visits in the second year.
The visits are typically about 90-120 minutes for the two vaccine visits and follow up visits are 30-45 minutes.

Yes, people who join a study are compensated for their time and travel. The details about compensation will be explained when a person enrolls and goes through the informed consent with a member of our clinical research team.
A Phase 3 vaccine study has already gone through several studies of safety. The study vaccine administered has been found to be safe in Phase 1 and 2 studies. Possible risks related to the specific vaccine are explained in detail with you when you enroll and consent to participate. This involves a written consent form that describes possible side effects. If a person chooses to enroll, the research team answers all questions.
